MP launches Christmas card competition

Winner - Chantelle Shouksmith, 11, Forest SchoolHarrogate and Knaresborough MP Andrew Jones has launched his annual competition to design his Christmas e-card.  Mr Jones is asking every seven to 11-year-old in the constituency to submit a design for his Christmas card in the competition which has been running since 2010.

The MP has written to all schools inviting them to take part and is expecting hundreds of entries from all parts of constituency.  The entries will be judged by the Mayor, Cllr Anne Jones, former primary school teacher, Penny Mackenzie and Harrogate High School staff member Amanda Reeve.

Mr Jones commented: “I always enjoy the Christmas card competition; it really makes you feel like Christmas is on the way.   Each school will have a winner and there will be one overall winner picked from all the entries which normally number many hundreds.”

Last year’s winner was Chantelle Shouksmith from The Forest School in Knaresborough.  Chantelle’s design is pictured above.
